styrofoam, resin, UV sensitive pigment, speaker, 12 sec audio loop, 2019

11″ x 9″ x 9″

This piece was made for an exhibition held in a lake in Huntsville, TX. The fabricated foam coconut floats in the lake with a small speaker inside playing a looping recording of the sound the artist’s mother makes when they get separated. The coconut is painted with UV sensitive pigment and blushes to a warm peach tone when in the sun.
